Citation:

Lieutenant Colonel Russi Hormusji Bajina was commanding a battalion, which was ordered to capture Muhadipur and Chhani villages in the Sialkot Sector where the enemy had built up heavily. Lieutenant Colonel Bajina captured Muhadipur and Chhani area on the night of 18 September 1965. Due to heavy shelling by enemy mortars and guns he hardly had time to reorganise his battalion when the enemy, launching a major counter-attack against these villages, penetrated into Muhadipur village. Lieutenant Colonel Bajina and his men fought bravely and threw the enemy out of Muhadipur village. In this action over one hundred enemy personnel, including an officer, were killed and nine taken prisoner.

In this action Lieutenant Colonel Bajina displayed gallantry, resourcefulness and leadership of a high order.
