What is Happening

A meeting of the War Decorated Trust was held on Thursday at Chandigarh. The following Trustees were present:

  • Capt Reet MP Singh, VrC

Discussion centered around passing the audited accounts for the year 2012-2013 and the Scholarship Scheme of the Trust.

In December 1971, Lieutenant Commander Inder Singh, commanding officer of a naval unit of the Eastern Fleet, was ordered to patrol the approaches to Visakhapatnam against enemy submarine attack. On the night of 3 December, he attacked a Pakistan submarine, which was trying to enter the approaches to Visakhapatnam. His attack was successful and the Pakistani submarine later identified as Ghazi was sunk. Later, he was also responsible for the capture of a Pakistani Ship. 

Throughout the operation, Lieutenant Commander Inder Singh displayed commendable courage and devotion to duty.
