Citation:

A battalion of JAT Regiment was given the task of clearing the enemy from Comilla airfield. This was a heavily fortified position eld in strength by the enemy. During the assault, a company of the battalion came under heavy and accurate fire from two enemy machine guns. Realising the necessity of silencing these machine guns, Company Havildar Major Krishan Singh charged one machine gun post single handed and captured it. The second machine gun continued to fire and inflict casualties on our troops. He charged at the second machine gun post also single handed and snatched the gun from enemy. While bringingit back, he was shot and died on the battlefield.

In this action Company Havildar Major Krishan Singh displayed courage and determination of a high order.
