Citation:

Sepoy Hanumant Krishna More was with a company of Maratha Light Infantry which was deployed in the Western Sector. During an attack an enemy medium machine gun opened fire from a flank inflicting heavy casualties on our troops. Sepoy More, with complete disregard for his safety, charged at the gun post and lobbed a grenade into it. Thereafter, he jumped inside the trench and killed the crew. In the process, he was wounded by a burst from a machine gun. Unmindful of his wounds, he started manning an enemy medium machine gun and fired at the retreating enemy inflicting heavy casualties.

In this action, Sepoy More displayed gallantry, determination and devotion to duty of a high order.
