Citation:

Wing Commander D. E. Pushong completed 99 landings at Poonch and was the first Dakota pilot to land at Poonch. He dropped ammunition to a platoon that was going to surrender in a position eight miles southeast of Naushera. He landed a 25 lb gun at Poonch on 21 March 1948 and airlifted his commanding officer whose aircraft had been shot by the enemy.
