Citation:
Lance Naik Shreepati Singh was the commander of a radar unit deployed for the protection of a radar installation in the Western Sector. On 4 December 1971, the enemy attacked this installation with F-104 Star fighters. Lance Naik Shreepati Singh showed grit and determination in laying the radar tracker visually on the enemy aircraft attacking his radar set. Though seriously wounded, he continued to track the aircraft till it was shot down.

In this action, Lance Naik Shreepati Singh displayed gallantry, determination and devotion to duty of high order.
